Light in the Dark

It's the time of year when things get colder and darker, and you can feel the chill begin to spread.  And yet, like the glowing smile of a jack-o-lantern penetrating the darkness on a cold Halloween night, there is a warm light shining within us despite, or perhaps because of, the darkness.  There is a stillness as the leaves begin to fall from the trees, but there is a light in the forest as well.  As the darkness deepens, the light approaches. The light within us, some may say, is more easily seen when we embrace the darkness.

After all, it’s easier to see the sparkle of a star in a midnight sky.  Are you in touch with your inner darkness, the backdrop to your inner stars?  This is a seasonal time of mystery and embracing the shadow.  By embracing the unknown and, at times, scary darkness, we embrace the light and the mystery of it all.

Hear the wisdom of the trees and regard the light in the forest. Sense the light within your heart speaking to you. The fall reminds us to loosen her grip, let our leaves fall to the ground, and begin to return to the stillness and our sacred worlds within.  In the stillness is rebirth and the transformation into our new selves.
